Dr. Hourtash serves as both the executive and a research engineer
for Simplify Robotics. Prior to 2000, Dr. Hourtash contributed
to engineering teams in several organizations, including
Hewlett-Packard,
Cymer, and others. In 2000, he
founded Simplify Robotics, and until 2006, his efforts focused on
projects at the
Automation, Robotics, and Simulation Division at NASA
Johnson Space Center. Dr.
Hourtash has been a volunteer with organizations such as
US FIRST and
BEST ROBOTICS, which promote
engineering education for adolescents. Dr. Hourtash is a member of
IEEE and has published at conferences
and in journals in the IEEE Robotics and
Automation Society. Dr.
Hourtash received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from
University of
California, San Diego in 1999. His research focused on manipulator path planning. |
